Why we love it: All of our child testers adored the unboxing experience, and the excitement of unwrapping their doll and the surprise accessories to see what was inside. You certainly get a lot for your money and both the children and grown-ups loved how the packaging could be used as part of the play – Samantha, mum to Luna, 5, thought this was handy for keeping all the accessories together, too. Why we love it: The front flaps tie back to allow the tent to be closed to create a secret hideaway (which can also be useful for impromptu naps!). The teepee is easy to assemble and has pre-fixed elastic poles. It folds down to a compact size for easy storage or transportation and it is great for creative play and as a quick-to-assemble hideaway den.

Why we love it: Her hair is amazing! And the record player packaging (similar for all the dolls in the range) is very clever. Worth knowing, though, that part of the reason she's a Remix doll is that her 2nd outfit has got mixed up in fellow Remix doll Lonestar's box, so your child will 'need' to get Lonestar to complete Honeylicous' wardrobe. And you'll need all 3 other Remix dolls to reveal the whole song…

Why we love it: It's huge and has so much play potential once all those surprises are opened. Our child tester, Tabitha, 7, loved discovering all the little extras included with it, like mini headsets and tickets. She especially liked the light-up element and the fact she could fold down all the chairs for her dolls to sleep at night, declaring it "a really cool and fun toy!". Keep your eyes pleased for price reductions on this toy: we've seen some are some big discounts you could snap up.

Why we love it: It's nice to see a doll included in this playset (although they're aren't other surprises to unwrap). The car is well made and has good detailing – we particularly like that you can adjust the seats to be booster seats for your smaller LOL dolls. The pool has a lining so you can fill it with actual water and the pop-up black-light headlights reveal surprises on your doll.

Comes with 85 surprises (to furnish your house with) and can be spun around (if you've the space) to reveal a shopping centre backdrop on the other side.
Why we love it: It's wooden and wonderfully detailed – the toilet flushes and you can fill the swimming pool with water – and we like how the furniture transforms (the pianos turn into bunk beds, for example). But it is massive – do check you have the space for it – and it does take a few hours to assemble before you can play with it.
